Who should attend the 2017 World Credit Union Conference?
The World Credit Union Conference is designed for high-level credit union leaders from around the globe including credit union staff, board of directors, supervisory committee members and international regulators.
What are future dates or locations of the World Credit Union Conference?
The 2018 World Credit Union Conference will take place 15 - 18 July in Singapore.
Does World Council provide scholarships to attend the conference?
Currently, World Council does not offer scholarships to the 2017 World Credit Union Conference. However, we do provide a discount on registration for those who qualify.
What is the yearly World Council Scholarship Program for attendees 35 years or younger?

The World Council Young Credit Union People (WYCUP) program is an annual scholarship and event to promote and engage the next generation of credit union leaders in the international credit union movement. The scholarship is awarded to five outstanding nominees who have made significant contributions to their credit union systems and have the potential to make a global credit union impact.

The 2017 WYCUP scholarship will be awarded at the World Credit Union Conference in Vienna, Austria, 23 – 26 July, for an all-expense-paid attendance at the 2018 World Credit Union Conference. To learn more please click here.

Am I a World Council Member?
If your credit union is affiliated with any of our members here, then you are a member of World Council.
Am I a part of a developed or emerging credit union movement?

The following countries are considered to have developed credit union movements:

  • Australia
  • Brazil
  • Canada
  • Ireland
  • Poland
  • United States

All other countries are considered developing or emerging credit union movements.

What is the conference dress code?

The following dress code is suggested.

Is there translation/interpretation offered at the conference?
Translation/interpretation will be provided in Spanish and Portuguese for the 2017 Conference. Translation will be offered in the keynote session room for all sessions hosted in this venue and one additional breakout session. This information will be provided in all of the onsite informational materials.
How do I get my headset for simultaneous interpretation?
Headsets will be provided to attendees who have requested either Spanish or Portuguese translation during their registration. The attendees will keep their headset for the entire duration of the conference. Headsets must be returned after the final sessions on Wednesday. Attendees who do not return their headsets will be subject to a fee.

Will Credit Union Visits be offered? How do I sign up for them?

What is the hotel cancellation policy?
Please note that hotel cancellation policies without penalty vary greatly amongst the conference hotels from 90 days to 24 hours prior to check-in. Once hotels are posted, please read your specific hotel’s policy carefully to avoid cancellation fees.

What is the registration cancellation policy?
Registrations cancelled on or before 2 June 2017 are subject to a $100 USD cancellation fee. Registration fees are non-refundable after 2 June 2017. Cancellations and refund requests must be requested in writing to the World Council of Credit Unions, Registration Coordinator, at krauch@woccu.org. Refunds are not provided for delegates who do not attend the conference.
What if I need to send someone else in my place?
Attendees can substitute registrations but may be charged an additional fee depending on the registration type. All requests for substitutions need to be submitted in writing to Kassandra Rauch at krauch@woccu.org. We suggest making any substitutions by 7 July 2017 to ensure that any onsite materials are updated for the new attendee.
How do I make changes/updates to my registration or get a receipt?

Once you are registered for the conference, you can login here  to your registration profile to:

  • Update your information
  • View/print a receipt
  • Register a guest or another attendee
  • Register for tours, day trips and/or any additional activities


Do I need to pre-register for breakout sessions?
No, all breakout sessions are first-come, first-served. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes prior to the session start time.
How will I receive my registration materials?

All registration material will be provided on-site at the registration desk in the Austria Centre Vienna. Registration will be open during the following times.

Do I have to wear my name badge credentials each day?
Yes, security requires that all registered participants wear their name badge in order to gain admission to conference events/sessions. Those without a name badge may be denied entrance. See the on-site registration desk if you misplace your name badge.

How do I register a guest?
Guests can be registered during attendee conference registration process.

You may also register guests for day trips/tours. Attendees may also login to their registration profile at a later time and select “Modify” and then click the “Add Guest” button.
How do I register for pre/post tours, day trips or other optional activities?
Pre/post tours, day trips, Executive Series, WYCUP and the Fun Run can be selected during registration here. Attendees can login to their account and make adjustments as needed after they complete their conference registration.

Travel

What airport should we fly into/out of?
We suggest using the Vienna International Airport (VIE), which is about a 20-minute drive to the Austria Centre Vienna.
Do I need a travel visa?
Generally, a citizen of a foreign country who wishes to enter Austria must first obtain a visa. Please review Visa Information in further detail.
Is there transportation to and from the airport for conference attendees?
No, attendees will need to arrange their own transportation to and from the airport.
Is there transportation to/from the hotels and the conference venue during the conference?
Yes, transportation via train or shuttle will be provided to/from select conference hotels and the Austria Center Vienna. Hotels offering transportation will be noted on the Accommodations page.
